New Commercial Energy Loan Program Will Help Local Businesses Reduce Energy Costs and Improve Energy Efficiency

Nevada’s green bank, the Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF), is excited to announce the launch of financing applications for commercial property owners in the state seeking to implement energy efficiency upgrades. NCEF has established the program with a subgrant from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy (GOE), using Nevada’s federal Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund (EE RLF) award.

Financing under the new program will be available to areas of the state that have adopted enabling Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) resolutions. Jurisdictions which have implemented C-PACE include Clark County, Washoe County, Pershing County, Las Vegas, Reno, Sparks, and Fernley. Eligible participants, including owners of commercial facilities, can access affordable loan financing from NCEF to implement eligible energy upgrades that drive operating cost-savings measures and other similar building improvements. NCEF will provide a list of pre-screened and vetted contractors eligible to implement projects. More details on applicant and project eligibility are available in the program guidance document. Applications are now being accepted through NCEF’s application form. See nevadacef.org for more details.

“We are excited to work with Nevada’s nonprofit green bank to establish yet another transformative program that will drive cost savings for Nevadan businesses,” said Dwayne McClinton, Director of GOE and Chairperson of NCEF’s Board of Directors. “This program is a testament to the benefits of combining public and private funds to drive Nevada’s renewable energy future.”

“Energy costs are often the one of the largest operating expenses for many local businesses, and the most unpredictable,” said Kirsten Stasio, CEO of NCEF. “NCEF’s C-PACE loans will enable commercial building owners in Nevada to reduce energy costs and improve physical comfort and air inside building.”
