Nevada Clean Energy Fund Leads State’s Application to Solar for All
August 10, 2023
RENO, NV – The Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) is leading Nevada’s application to the $7 billion Solar For All federal funding opportunity with support from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy (GOE). The Solar for All program will enable low-income households to access affordable, resilient, and clean solar energy. The US Environmental Protection Agency is administering Solar for All as part of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
“GOE is eager and proud to support NCEF in their pursuit of federal funding under the Solar for All Program on behalf of Nevada. This work will help advance Governor Lombardo’s energy policy objectives, including addressing climate change and ensuring all Nevadans have access to affordable, reliable energy,” said Dwayne McClinton, Director of the Governor’s Office of Energy and a member of NCEF’s Board of Directors.
NCEF was established by state legislation in 2017 as a nonprofit organization to accelerate financing for clean energy projects. NCEF is playing an important role in expanding Nevada’s capacity to access and implement the unprecedented level of federal clean energy funds becoming available.
“We are grateful for GOE’s support in our efforts to bring Solar for All funds to Nevada,” said Kirsten Stasio, NCEF’s CEO. “With these funds, we can launch low-income solar programs that provide meaningful benefits to communities across the state.”
