Nevada Clean Energy Fund Advisory Council Appoints Rose McKinney-James as Chair 

The Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) is proud to announce the appointment of Rose McKinney-James as the inaugural Chairperson of its Advisory Council. This Council is comprised of a diverse group of leaders with expertise in investment and risk management, community engagement, policy, and philanthropy. The Advisory Council plays an important role in providing strategic guidance to NCEF’s leadership and Board of Directors, supporting the organization’s continued growth and success. 

McKinney-James is an experienced and seasoned small business leader, clean energy advocate, and independent corporate director with a distinguished career in public service, nonprofit volunteerism, and corporate social responsibility. She formerly served as Commissioner at the Nevada Public Service Commission and Nevada’s first Director of the Department of Business and Industry. Working with a diverse group of advocates, Ms. McKinney-James lead the effort to facilitate the passage of the first Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) in Nevada. Her expertise and leadership in clean energy and public policy will be invaluable as NCEF continues its mission to advance clean energy solutions across Nevada.

Other members of the NCEF Advisory Council include Mark Hayes (WovenEarth Ventures), Christine Hess (Nevada Housing Division), Daphne Emm Hooper (University of Nevada Reno Office of Indigenous Relations), Paul Scharfenberger (Collective Clean Energy Fund), Marie Steele (NV Energy), Jane Woodward (WovenEarth Ventures), and Nic Steele (Access Community Capital).  

About the Nevada Clean Energy Fund 

The Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) is a nonprofit organization that supports a thriving, affordable, and accessible clean energy economy by providing financial and technical resources to Nevadans. NCEF was established by Nevada legislation in 2017 as the state’s green bank. NCEF implements programs for diverse Nevada stakeholders, including affordable housing, Tribes, nonprofits, schools, local governments, and rural communities. Clean energy measures include building electrification and efficiency, renewable energy, clean vehicles, and others.
