COMING IN 2025! Guide to Federal Home Energy Rebates

Federal home energy rebates are coming soon!
Use our guide below to find out if you qualify when they go live.
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), passed by Congress in 2022, contained billions of dollars in rebates for homeowners for energy efficiency and electrification projects. The rebates will be implemented by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy with an expected launch in 2025.

High Efficiency Electric Home Rebate (HEEHR)

Households that are Low-income (<80% of the Area Median Income as defined by HUD) qualify for 100% rebate on the purchase and installation cost of qualified electrification projects.

Households that are Moderate income (80-150% of their Area Median Income as defined by HUD) qualify for 50% rebate on the purchase and installation cost of qualified electrification projects.

Visit HUDuser.gov for Area Median Income calculations.

The HEEHR maximum rebate is $14,000 for qualifying upgrades including:

  • Heat Pump AC/Heater
    -up to $8,000
  • Heat Pump Water Heater
    -up to $1,750
  • Electric or Induction Stove, Range, or Oven
    -up to $840
  • Heat Pump Clothes Dryer
    -up to $840
  • Upgraded Electric Panels
    -up to $4,000
  • Upgraded Electric Wiring
    -Up to $2,500
  • Weatherization (insulation, air sealing, ventilation)
    -Up to $1,600

Note: Homeowners cannot receive both HEEHR and HOMES for the same measure. However, they may combine either HEEHR or HOMES with the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit. Rebate stackability will be subject to the final program rules.

Home Owner Managing Energy Savings Rebate (HOMES)

Households of all incomes that implement retrofits that achieve energy savings of at least 20% are eligible.

For low-income households (<80% of the Area Median Income as defined by HUD) the standard rebate dollar amounts are doubled, and the project cost percentage is raised to up to 80%. The recipient receives the lesser of the dollar amount rebate or the percentage of project costs.

There are 3 tiers of savings as follows -->

  • Retrofits with modeled energy savings of >35%
    • Standard: $4,000 or 50% of project costs, whichever is less
    • Low-Income: $8,000 or 80% of project costs, whichever is less Retrofits with modeled energy savings of 20-34% Standard: $2,000 or 50% of project costs, whichever is less Low-Income: $4,000 or 80% of project costs, whichever is less
  • Retrofits with modeled energy savings of 20-34%
    • Standard: $2,000 or 50% of project costs, whichever is less
    • Low-Income: $4,000 or 80% of project costs, whichever is less
