Exciting Partnership for Clean Energy Initiatives: State Funding Readiness Project and Nevada Clean Energy Fund Join Forces

August 14, 2023

RENO, NV – The Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) and the State Funding Readiness Project (SFRP) are thrilled to announce their collaboration on EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Solar for All program. This federal program, announced in June of this year, is set to award up to $7 Billion to eligible recipients to expand the number of low-income and disadvantaged communities primed for residential solar investment—enabling millions of low-income households to access affordable, resilient, and clean solar energy.

SFRP, a leading initiative specializing in federal funding preparedness and technical assistance for clean energy projects, is teaming up with NCEF, a state-level Green Bank that uses innovative financing to address clean energy market gaps and financial barriers. By pooling their expertise and resources, SFRP and NCEF aim to accelerate clean energy growth in the state, reduce energy costs, create jobs, and meaningfully address climate change.

“As our state moves toward a cleaner and more sustainable future, collaboration between organizations is key to unlocking the full potential of the federal funding that is available to Nevada,” said Kirsten Stasio, CEO at NCEF. “We are excited to join forces with SFRP to bring more federal funding to the state and drive positive long-term change.”

The partnership will provide an array of benefits for stakeholders, including access to specialized technical assistance and project-deployment support. By sharing knowledge and best practices, SFRP and NCEF will drive clean energy innovation, spurring economic growth and creating a greener and more resilient Nevada.

With strategic guidance from SFRP, NCEF is also building partnerships with state and local governments, nonprofits, Tribes, affordable housing stakeholders, and others across Nevada to develop a successful Solar for All strategy. This includes a partnership with Nevada GrantLab. Nevada GrantLab is a public-private partnership that assists local nonprofits and public agencies to apply for and administer federal grants that benefit Nevadans.
