NCEF Launches Nevada Solar for All Intake Forms for Affordable Housing Properties, Community Solar Hosts, and Solar Contractors
Nevada’s green bank, the Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF), is excited to announce the launch of a preliminary intake form for multifamily affordable housing properties, community solar hosts, and solar contractors to participate in the Nevada Solar for All (NSFA) program. This marks a significant first step in unlocking energy cost savings for Nevada’s low-income and underserved communities across the state.
NSFA is part of a $156 million Federal award aimed at empowering Nevada households to transition to clean energy solutions, helping them reduce their utility costs and experience at least 20% savings. The program aims to benefit 20,000 households in Nevada by 2029. The intake form for affordable housing properties and commercial properties enables them to request financial assistance to install solar that benefits both the property and low-income households. Community solar hosts could include governments, nonprofits, businesses, and utilities. The intake form for solar contractors is part of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for potential solar contractors to become eligible to install the solar projects supported with NSFA financial assistance.
NSFA’s financial assistance for single-family homeowners and community solar subscribers are expected to launch in late spring of 2025. NSFA is also in the process of launching workforce training programs with the goal of filling gaps in the low-income solar market and creating nearly 1,000 high-quality jobs.
NCEF established five distinct community councils to ensure the NSFA program reaches those most in need and aligns with community interests. Program design, intake forms, and vetting procedures were informed by these councils. Looking forward, these councils will focus on engaging with stakeholders and providing guidance on program implementation.
“We are thrilled to begin making financial assistance available under such an unprecedented program in Nevada,” said Kirsten Stasio, CEO of NCEF. “We are deeply thankful to our partners, stakeholders, and community members who have worked hard to make this launch possible. Their collaboration and commitment have laid the groundwork for a program that will reduce energy costs and promote sustainability, economic growth, and energy independence across the state.”
