Multifamily Housing

Multifamily Housing

For multifamily housing developers and property owners, investing in clean energy can be an opportunity to access additional federal funds, reduce utility costs, and make the property more attractive to prospective tenants. Clean energy measures such as better insulation, more efficient heating and air conditioning, electric vehicles (EVs) and EV chargers, and solar can cut energy costs while making the building healthier, safer, and more comfortable.

The Nevada Clean Energy Fund can provide financial and technical resources to multifamily housing properties to realize the benefits of clean energy. Reach out to us about your project. In addition, multifamily properties can find other available clean energy resources below.

Federal Incentives

The Inflation Reduction Act includes the following rebates for multifamily affordable properties: up to $8k for a heat pump, $1,600 for insulation, $1,750 for a heat pump water heater, $840 for an electric range or oven and electric heat pump clothes drier, $4k for an upgraded electrical panel, and $2,500 for wiring work. The Act also boosts solar and other clean energy tax credits. Low-income housing projects are eligible for a 30%-70% solar tax credit.
